Detail View Home Inspections has certified Home Inspectors

Your home purchase ranks up there with choosing a career or life partner as one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. It’s also probably the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy! Unfortunately, unlike a career, you don’t get a lot of training or life experience to prepare you for making that decision. That’s why a home inspector is a prospective home buyer’s best friend.

Why Does Your Home Inspector Matter?

If choosing to buy your home is an important decision, then choosing your home inspector is one of the most important decisions within it. Your home inspector is an objective resource who will help you make the right decision during this exciting time.

An inspector will know what to look for and how to find it. While your realtor, the home buyer, and the home seller may be on the up and up, they also all have a vested interest in the home’s sale. That’s not true for the home inspector, at least if you do it right.

Instead, the inspector is there to look for everything that is wrong or possibly could go wrong, so you go into any real estate purchase fully informed, with eyes wide open.

Select Your Home Inspector

The home buyer should always select their home inspector. There have been times when we at Detail View Home Inspections have found issues a previous inspector either missed or glossed over at the request of a realtor!

While this is not the norm, having an independent inspector is crucial for helping to cool things down during the exciting process of buying a new home.

What Should You Look for in a Home Inspector?

In addition to independence, you should consider several other factors when selecting your inspector. Here are some of the most essential items.

Certification

At a minimum, look for a certified home inspector to do the work. While it may be tempting to trust a friend who “knows construction,” you can always count that buddy as backup, but put your confidence in the pros.

Experience

Search for a home inspector who has plenty of experience inspecting homes. The more they’ve seen, the more they’ll see!

Types of Inspection

There are many ways a home can go wrong, so you should look for someone trained to spot them all. Some important things to look for are:

–           Radon Testing

–           Water Testing

–           Wood Destroying Insects Inspection

–           Whole Home Inspection

–           Manufactured Home inspection

Of course, not every type of inspection is needed for every home. You won’t need a well inspection if you don’t have a well. But ensure that the inspector you select is experienced in the variety of inspections your new home needs!

Third-Party Reviews

The internet age has meant that it’s a lot harder to hide for companies that don’t represent their customers well! That’s good news when looking for the right service provider for a particular task. Check out the Google Reviews or other sources before hiring your inspector!

Detail View is proud to be a 5 Star Home Inspector on Google!

Timeliness

Depending on your situation, you may need an inspection quickly! So ensure when speaking to an inspector that they will be available in your timeframe before hiring them.

We do our best to work within your schedule when your needs arise, though a heads-up is always appreciated when possible!
